AhojMetricsBot is the web crawler used by Ahoj Metrics, a website performance monitoring service. This bot makes requests to validate URLs and check website accessibility when users set up performance monitoring.

Bot Behavior

Lightweight Requests

The bot makes HEAD requests only to validate URL accessibility. It does not download full page content during validation.

Low Frequency

Validation requests are only made when users add new URLs to monitor. This is not a continuous crawling bot.

Respectful

The bot respects robots.txt directives and has a 5-second timeout to avoid overloading servers.

Allowing the Bot

If AhojMetricsBot is being blocked by your firewall or security service, you can allow it by:

  • Adding the User-Agent string to your allowlist
  • Creating a firewall rule to allow requests with this User-Agent
  • Configuring your CDN (Cloudflare, etc.) to permit the bot
